About The Novel

Orlando, a passionate young nobleman, finds himself swept into the dazzling court of Queen Elizabeth I. As decades and centuries unfold, Orlando embarks on a remarkable odyssey, experiencing love, heartbreak, and adventure across continents and eras. Through a twist of fate, he awakens one morning as a woman, navigating the societal expectations and personal discoveries that come with this transformation. With wit and wisdom, Orlando embraces life in all its complexities, forging connections with historical figures and literary luminaries along the way. This playful and poignant novel is a timeless exploration of gender, identity, and the enduring power of storytelling.

About The Author

Virginia Woolf (1882-1941) was a pioneering English modernist novelist, essayist, and critic. Known for her innovative narrative techniques and stream-of-consciousness style, Woolf's works challenged traditional literary forms and tackled social issues like gender, class, and sexuality. Her masterpieces, including "Mrs. Dalloway" and "To the Lighthouse," continue to inspire readers and scholars today. "Orlando" stands as a testament to her playful spirit and insightful exploration of human experience, making it a perfect choice for this book club gathering.
